ROCHESTER - Police say a Rochester man was driving drunk when he drove his car over a Pine Street residence's yard, through a chain link fence, over a tree and into rear of a Chestnut Street home before walking away from the scene.

Tarquinio Bruno, 32, of Blue Hills Drive, was arrested Saturday morning after police found him walking on Pine Street a short distance from the crash site. He was arrested and charged with DWI, a Class A misdemeanor; and conduct after an accident, a Class B misdemeanor.

Police first got the call for a car into a home around 2:30 a.m.

When they arrived to the area of 77 Chestnut St. they found a 2005 Acura sedan in the back yard resting against a Chestnut Street home. The vehicle had heavy damage to the front, and the driver's side airbag had deployed.

Police were able to track the vehicle's path of travel, from Fairway Avenue crossing Pine St. into the yard of 90 Pine St., through a chain link fence and over a tree prior to crashing into the rear of the residence on Chestnut Street.

Police soon located a male walking on Pine Street a short distance from the accident scene. After conducting an on scene investigation the male was determined to be the driver and identified as Bruno.

He was bailed on personal recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment next month in Rochester District Court.

As a result of the collision and damage to the residence Building, Licensing and Zoning responded to the scene to evaluate any possible structural damage.
