Rochester man arrested in stabbing that occurred near Amazon Campground

ROCHESTER - A Rochester man has been arrested in a stabbing that occurred on Thursday in the area of Amazon Campground on Whitehouse Road.

Rochester Police and Frisbie EMS responded to the scene around 11:15 p.m. for the report of a stabbing and upon arrival found a male victim suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

During an investigation it was learned that the victim had gotten into an argument with another male when the altercation escalated leading to the stabbing, according to a release from Rochester Police sent out today.

Both parties were known to one another, police say. The other involved male remained on scene and was ultimately arrested.

Jeremy Brown, 51, of Rochester, was charged with three counts of first degree assault with a deadly weapon, a Class A felony. Brown was held pending an arraignment today at the 7th Circuit District Court in Rochester.
