Rochester man faces arraignment on DWI charges in fatal Sunday crash in Ossipee

OSSIPEE - A Rochester man will be arraigned today in Ossipee District Court on charges of aggravated DWI following the crash on Sunday that claimed the life of an 80-year-old Ossipee woman.

Police say that Robert Gifford, 54, of Rochester, was operating a 2005 Mack Dump truck northbound on Route 28 when he lost control of the dump truck, causing it to roll over and crash into an SUV driven by Dorothy Marshall, 80, of Ossipee, who was headed south.
Marshall was pronounced deceased as a result of the crash, while Gifford was uninjured.
He was arrested and held at the Carroll County Department of Corrections pending the noon arraignment.
