DOVER - A jury selected Monday at Strafford Superior Court will decide the fate of a Rochester man accused of attempted felonious sexual assault on a girl under the age of 13 in 2022.
Jeremy Brooks, 31, with a last known address of Perimeter Drive, Rochester, allegedly committed the crime "when he did try to engage in sexual contact with (the victim) ... by kissing (her) and asking her to let him touch her (genitals) in exchange for a gift card," according to his December 2022 indictment.
The offering of the gift card "did constitute a substantial step toward the commission of the crime," court documents state.
The charge against Brooks could put him behind bars in a state prison for between 10 and 30 years.
The initial complaint was issued on Sept. 19, 2022.
The trial is expected to begin on April 16 and last three days.
