Rochester man facing life in overdose death of Farmington native

DOVER - A Rochester man with dozens of arrests by Rochester police has been indicted in the fentanyl overdose death of a Somersworth man last September.

Richard Trueman, 39, of 31 Winter St., is charged with dispensing drug resulting in death, a special felony that carries up to a life sentence.

According to the indictment, Keenan Skillin (misspelled Skillen in court paperwork), 38, died as a result of ingesting the powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl, which was "knowing dispensed" to him by Trueman on Sept. 29, 2020. According to a Go Fund Me page and social media posts, Skillin, who grew up in Farmington, died the next day.
According to Skillin's Facebook page, he was married and had worked as a machine operator at Rand-Whitney.
Trueman has some 50 arrests since 2001, including at least one felony.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been brought forward to go to trial.
The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on July 15 and released on Thursday.
