DOVER - A Rochester man will spend the next three to six years in state prison after he was sentenced in a brutal beating that occurred in Farmington last July.
Donnell Boucher Jr., 21, of Salmon Falls Road, pleaded guilty on Monday in Strafford Superior Court to four felony counts, including first degree assault.

The beating took place around 2 a.m. the morning of July 16 at the corner of Dick Dame Lane and Hersom Road, where Boucher and two other men ambushed a male victim, who had agreed to meet a female there and believed she had "set him up," according to a Farmington Police affidavit. The victim told police the three attacked him, punching and kicking him. He also said he was pistol whipped from behind.
After being treated at Frisbie Memorial Hospital for multiple injuries, including blunt trauma, lacerations and contusions to the head, face and arms, he went directly to Farmington Police to report the alleged crime, where Officer Julian Guidry found the victim's head covered with dried blood and staples, cuts around his mouth, an abrasion and swelling to his forehead and a large bruise and swelling on his left ear, according to the affidavit.
Boucher was initially charged with two counts of first degree assault, one count of second degree assault and three counts of simple assault as well as riot and criminal threatening, all felonies.
Boucher was sentenced to three to six years on a single charge of first degree assault, with three other 2-4 years sentences for witness tampering, riot and second degree assault suspended for three years following his release from prison.
Boucher also had 254 days of pretrial credit.
