ALFRED, Maine A Rochester, N.H., man has been indicted on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm in connection with a Berwick arrest in July.

Joseph Russell, 23, of 23 Wildflower Way, was arrested on July 26 in Berwick and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and receiving a firearm, both felonies.

If convicted on both counts Russell could face up to 15 years in state prison.

The York County grand jury handed down the indictments on Oct. 3, and they were made public today.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to warrant a trial.
