Rochester man nabbed in city burglary try

ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was arrested on Monday after police say he and another man tried to steal from a Hussey Street home.

Stephen R. Reagan Jr., 21, a transient, was charged with attempted burglary. He also had an outstanding warrant with Rochester police for theft.

The incident began when Rochester police responded to Hussey Street concerning a report that two men were in the neighborhood acting suspiciously around 10:30 a.m.

Officers learned there had been an attempted burglary at a home, but did not locate any suspects.

However, around 2:30 that afternoon officers saw two men matching the description given them earlier.

Reagan was held on $5,000 cash bail on the felony attempted burglary charge, and will be arraigned today at Strafford County Superior Court.

The second suspect was not charged, police said.
