Rochester man said to have cut GPS device indicted on escape, burglary charges

DOVER - A Rochester man has been indicted in a city burglary that allegedly occurred while he was on the lam from lawmen after disabling the GPS monitoring device used as part of a sentencing agreement with Strafford County Community Corrections.
Ronald Moreau Jr., with a last known address of Old Wakefield Road, escaped when he "did tamper with and/and or cut the GPS bracelet used to monitor his status" on Feb. 10, the indictment indicates.
Then on March 18 it is alleged Moreau committed a burglary at 6 Academy St., when he entered the building without permission with the intent to commit a burglary.
Both burglary and escape are Class B felonies, punishable by up to seven years in prison.
Moreau is currently being held at the Strafford County Jail on $10,000 cash bail on the two felonies and an additional $500 on two misdemeanors for allegedly receiving stolen property and theft by deception.
The recent Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on Oct. 20 and released last week.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
