SOMERSWORTH - A Rochester woman who worked as a substitute teacher at Somersworth Middle School was arrested on Thursday for allegedly inviting students to smoke marijuana with her.
Elisha Mahar, 20, of 37 Gooseberry Circle, was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all Class A misdemeanors that could land her up to a year in county jail.
Mahar, who no longer works at the school, was also charged with providing a Vape smoking device to a student.
An investigation into Mahar's alleged offenses began on Oct. 13 when they were reported to the School Resource Officer by school officials, according to a Somersworth Police press release sent on Thursday.
All of the incidents occurred while Mahar was employed at the school.
Mahar was released on personal recognizance with an arraignment set for later this month in Dover District Court.
