DOVER - A Rochester woman was sentenced to 12 months in jail on Tuesday after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to sell methamphetamines last March.

Joan A Chesser, 33, formerly of Lafayette Street, also pleaded guilty to a violation offense of driving after suspension. As part of the plea deal, four drug possession charges were nol prossed, or not prosecuted, said Assistant County Attorney Chelsea Lane.

Three months of Chesser's sentence were suspended, which means she could be out of jail in just a few days, since she has 185 days of pretrial credit, Lane said.

Chesser will also undergo two years of probation upon her release.
