ROCHESTER - The Rochester Opera House has decided against scheduling any more Christmas events and shows due to the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases throughout the region and state.

ROH Executive Director Anthony Ejarque said in a message on the Opera House website's home page that "with the recent turn of events we feel it is in everyone's best interest if we pause for a few months and re-evaluate as soon as conditions improve."

Their 2020 season concluded with Saturday's performances of Sole City Dance's Nutcracker.

In his message Ejarque thanked the Rochester community for its continued support, which "has been critical in keeping our doors open throughout this crisis."

He added that the Opera House "is on solid ground, and we feel confident that we can weather the storm. "
