ROCHESTER - The Rochester Public Library's Children's Room has announced it will be collaborating with other community organizations to bring an outdoor story and walk program to different locations throughout the city.

The outdoor story and walk provides an opportunity for physical activity while nurturing a child's interest in books.

Pages from a children's book are posted on signs and placed along a walking trail. As you move along the trail, you are directed to the next page in the story.

The Children's Room will be sharing this summer's first story and walk program at the YMCA of Strafford County's Healthy Kids Day on June 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at Camp Coney Pine located at 63 Lowell Street.

Other walks are planned throughout the summer at The Rochester Farmers Market, Pickering Ponds Trail, and one on the Library lawn.
