ROCHESTER - Ruth Taylor, 92, formerly of Chestnut Hill Rd died Monday August 18, 2014 at the Rochester Manor.

Ruth was born in Portsmouth on November 11, 1921, the daughter of John and Captola May (Pike) Babb. Ruth was a proud graduate student of Rochester High School. She met and married her husband Kenneth G. Taylor and made their home in Rochester. There they raised five children. Ruth worked in various mills and shoe factories. She loved to sew and cook for her family and most of all dance whenever she heard music. Ruth was an active mother who always supported her family. She was a member of the Red Raiders Mothers Club and Good Ole' Sports.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, sisters June and Lorraine, husband Kenneth G. Taylor and eldest son John L. Taylor.

She will be greatly missed by her loving sister Gloria Babb Holland and surviving members of her family, son Mark and his wife Patty, Michael and his wife Cathie, daughter Gail Taylor Martin and her husband Don, Lori Taylor and daughter in-law Ada Taylor all of Rochester. Seven grandchildren, Troy Taylor, Cori Connelly, Jennifer Govoni, Alexis Martin, Dallas Martin, Chaz Hartford, Kaden Taylor and 9 grandchildren Quinn, Cal, and Cade, Jake and Greta, Alexza and Leonardo, Derek and Beckham and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth's lively spirit was captured by her favorite saying, "Whoop-De-Doo"! She was a very giving and kind person who will forever be missed and loved by all.
