DOVER - An inmate housed at the Strafford County House of Corrections died on Sunday, apparently in his sleep, officials say.

A Strafford County Sheriff's Office statement received today indicated that the inmate was found unresponsive in his cell around 5:30 a.m.

Dover Fire and Rescue responded and it was determined the inmate died during sleep.

The sheriff's office and Dover Police are both investigating what has been determined an untimely death.

Officials said no foul play is indicated at this time.

The man was a U.S. Marshal's inmate. His age and hometown were not released.
