DOVER - On Feb. 28, 2024, Salvatore Farina of Dover died peacefully in his sleep at the Edgewood Nursing Home in Portsmouth.

He was born in Boston on Jan. 11, 1926.

He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served as a Corpsman in the Philippines.

Afterward he attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and started his career as a pharmacist.

During this time, he married Rose Marie Scalia, of Newton, Mass.

They subsequently had four sons; James, Michael, Joseph and Richard.

In 1965, the family moved to Barrington, where he became the proprietor of Lightbody Drug in Rochester.

He retired in 2011.

He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Berlandi, sisters in law Dolores Kane and Joanne Davis as well has his four sons and their families, including grand- and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
