SANFORD - A Sanford man scuffled with officers Saturday night while being placed under arrest for failure to pay fines in connection with three outstanding warrants, according to Sanford Police.

Jose Daniel Gonzales, 34, of 24 Thomson St., Apt. B, was taken into custody around 9:15 after at first resisting officers' attempts to arrest him, Deputy Chief Tim Strout said today. Strout said one of the officers was injured in the incident, but that it was of a non-incapacitating nature.

Gonzales was charged with aggravated trafficking of Schedule W drugs, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.

Strout said Gonzales was carrying about four grams of heroin at the time of his arrest.

He was transported to York County Jail without further incident, Strout said.
