ALFRED, Maine - Three FedEx trucks were involved in a four-vehicle collision on Route 11 on Tuesday.

The crash occurred around 10 a.m. near the Lyman town line.

Maine State Police said in a press release that the crash involved three FedEx vehicles and a passenger car, all of which were traveling West on Route 111 when they collided due to traffic slowing down and vehicles following too closely.

The driver of one of the FedEx vehicles, an unidentified Sanford woman, was transported to a local hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

Two of the FedEx vehicles sustained considerable damage while one was pushed off the road and into a tree. The leaves near the tree caught fire but were quickly extinguished. One lane of traffic was kept open while the scene was cleared. Once the vehicles were towed, traffic resumed to normal.
