School evacuated after bomb threat found

FARMINGTON, N.H. - Farmington High School was evacuated on Tuesday after a bomb threat was found scrawled on a bathroom wall.

The evacuation began around 10 a.m. Staff and students were sent to the Henry Wilson School and sheltered there. Parents were notified via automated phone messages. advising them of the situation and the students' location.

After a New Hampshire State Police Bomb squad including a K9 unit found no threat while searching the school, students returned to the high school to resume their day around noon..

Parents were then alerted to their return.

Assisting the Farmington Police and Fire Departments was the Strafford County Sheriff office and New Hampshire State Police.

In a press release, Farmington Police said anyone making such threats could face jail time of up to seven years plus $1,000 or more in fines and restitution to the Town of Farmington for the manpower and equipment used.
