DOVER - Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity has been chosen as the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce "Small Nonprofit of the Year."

The award will be presented to SENH Habitat for Humanity on Jan. 17 at the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce's Annual Awards Gala at the Rivermill at Dover Landing.

"We are truly blessed to be supported by the Greater Seacoast community and the Dover Chamber of Commerce" said the nonprofit's executive director, Marcie Bergan. "Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and it means the world to us to have been chosen for this year's "Small Nonprofit of the Year Award. We are honored to be added to list of amazing nonprofits who have come before SENH Habitat."

In 2019, SENH Habitat witnessed "first-hand" what the Dover community is capable of when everyone comes together for the greater good. The organization was proud to have moved another veteran family and their two young daughters into their new Habitat home in September; the house was built entirely by volunteers from the community. SENH Habitat also hosted one of the Dover Chamber's "Morning Mixer" networking events at the Habitat home while it was being built last year.

"Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity exemplifies so much of what is good in our community: volunteerism, philanthropy, compassion, and commitment," said Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce President Margaret Joyce. "We look forward to honoring SENH Habitat at our Annual Awards Gala later this month and working with them in the years ahead to build a stronger community."

Tickets for the Chamber's Annual Gala are $90 each and can be purchased on the Chamber's website, www.dovernh.org.

The mission of SENH Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate poverty housing in Southeast NH. To volunteer, donate or learn more about SENH Habitat for Humanity, please visit www.senhhabitat.org or call (603) 433-9555.
