ZZ Top was one of the first bands that I ever saw on a big stage. I will never forget my awe at their stage presence and brilliant light show, and Dusty Hil, the frontman, with the long beard and amazing talent! Those three men filled that huge stage with hours of music that helped shape a young girl's musical journey. Thank you for your soulful part in that, Mr. Dusty Hill, you will always have a place in my heart and playlist.

From the ZZ Top fan page:
"We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the 'Top'. We will forever be connected to that "Blues Shuffle in C."

You will be missed greatly, amigo." (bandmates Frank & Billy)
