Sheriff's deputy hurt when his cruiser rear-ends pickup in Waterboro

WATERBORO, Maine - A York County Sheriff's cruiser took heavy damage when it rear-ended a pickup truck in Waterboro on Friday.
The crash occurred around 1 p.m. when Deputy Stephen Gould, driving a marked York County Sheriff's Office cruiser, was traveling south on Route 202 (Main Street) in Waterboro and rear ended a 2015 Ford pickup truck driven by Matthew Cole, 44, of North Waterboro.
Cole had stopped while waiting to turn east on Hamilton Road and Deputy Gould could not stop in time before making contact, according to a release from the York County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Gould was treated and released at the hospital, while Cole was treated and released at the scene. Both vehicles were towed.
The crash was investigated by the Maine State Police.
