ROCHESTER - Mrs. Sherrilyn McKie Hatch, wife of 37 years to Alan Lewis Hatch, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
Hatch was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 18, 1944 and moved to New England in 1976. As a public school educator, she worked at Strafford Learning Center, as Assistant Director of Special Education in Rochester and retired from Wells-Ogunquit CSD 18 as Director of Special Services in 1996. Since retirement, she has worked for UNE, as Adjunct Professor, on-line Master's Program and as full Professor at Walden University since 2004.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, are her father, Charlie R. Mckie, North Augusta, SC and stepfather John B. Leahy, Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Katherine Nadeau of Greenland, N.H. and Julie Alferez of Portland, Ore. and son Jeffrey Hatch of Dover, N.H. Sisters include, Charlene Petlick of Greenland, N.H., Marge Pingel of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mary Leahy of Tucson, AZ, Barbara B. Bollock of Thompson, Ga., Laura B. Waites of Lexington, S.C., Paula B. Hughes of Tallahassee, Fla. and brother John Leahy of Burlington, Mass. There are nine grandchildren.Sherrilyn was a CASA volunteer and a member of The Homemakers Board of Directors in Rochester, N.H.
