WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. - Shirley A. Vanasse, died peacefully at her Mill Hill residence on Route 28 on Sunday, July 29, 2018, following a 13-year battle with Alzheimer's, with her loving family by her side. She was 82.
Born February 21, 1936 in Ossipee, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Veno) Letourneau, and grew up in Rochester, N.H., graduating from Spaulding High School, where she enjoyed cheerleading. It was there that she met her future husband, the late Robert (Bob) Vanasse, the love of her life.
Shirley has lived in West Yarmouth since 2001 after moving from North Andover, Mass. She moved extensively, in support of Bob's career - a career that took their family to Winston-Salem, N.C. and Kwajalein Island, Marshall Islands, before returning to North Andover. She enjoyed outdoor activities including golf, gardening, and yard sales. She loved her family and entertaining friends.
Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob, who died March of this year. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Green and husband, Robb, of Paso Robles, Calif., and Paula Bryant and husband, Michael, of West Yarmouth Mass., along with her granddaughter, Samantha Bryant.
