ROCHESTER - Shirley Treadwell Chick died on Friday January 22, 2021. She was a month shy of her 87th birthday. Shirley was born on February 15, 1934.

Shirley's parent's names were Ralph Neal Dow Treadwell and Kate Gertrude Mace Treadwell. Shirley was born in Sanford, Maine. Her siblings are all deceased. Shirley's brothers were Malcolm Harding Treadwell, Burton Charles Treadwell, Merle Woodman Treadwell and Ralph Ezekiel Treadwell. Her sister was Arlene Treadwell Leonard.

Shirley had four sons with wives. Earl Chick and wife Janet, Mike Chick and wife Linda, Dog Chick (deceased) and Daniel Chick. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Shirley loved her sons and their wives and all the grandchildren and nieces and nephews very much. She was a caring and loving mother and she never gave up on them.

Growing up Shirley loved riding her white horse. She would walk a number of miles just to go to school. As a young woman she completed nursing school and obtained her nursing license. As a loving mother to her four boys she was always supportive of their love for hockey. She enjoyed watching the Patriots and college football. Shirley had a green thumb and she always had a bountiful vegetable garden. Shirley hosted many Tupperware, Copper, Candle and coloring parties.

The Mace/Treadwell family reunions were always important for Shirley to attend. She loved her family beyond words. Neighbors and friends were also a big part of Shirley's life.

After her boys grew up, she loved to go to Foxwoods and play the slot machines and bingo. Shirley would also frequent the local bingo halls with her many friends.

Shirley worked as a nurse at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital and at the Riverside Rest Home. She was also a hard worker at Burger King, Market Basket and honored with two awards at Cabletron.

She was well known for making people laugh and feel comfortable. Shirley was a caring and loving mother. She loves doing puzzles and word searches, country music, ice cream sundaes, pizza and bananas were some of her favorites.
