ROCHESTER - Shirley Euphema Clark, 88, died peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Hyder Hospice House, Dover. Her life was characterized by unfailing devotion to her family as a faithful wife, devoted mother, and invested grandmother.
She will be greatly missed by her loving daughters, Jeanne Sorrell (Rob) of Berwick, Maine and Mary Macbeth (Bob) of Loveland, Colo.; five grandchildren, Sarah Alber, Megan Frith, Mikeal Macbeth, Sloane Sorrell, SSG Cody Sorrell, all of whom cherish her wholehearted support; four great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Josie, Forrest, and Walker, whom she adored.
Shirley was born December 14, 1928 to Ray and Ruby Adams Ricketts in Arnold, Neb., and on July 13, 1948 married Floyd Clark, the love of her life. They resided in Southern Calif., and Ft. Collins, Colo., until retiring in Maine in 2008.
Along with delighting many children with her storytelling, she also enjoyed scrapbooking, raising Silky Terriers, rose gardening, and reading.
She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years; a brother, Bud Ricketts; and a great-granddaughter Hazel Anne Alber.
