EAST ROCHESTER - An alert DPW plow driver calling in suspicious activity in East Rochester driveways early Thursday morning led to a couple of Rochester residents being arrested on prowling, theft and resisting arrest charges.

The incident unfolded around 2:15 a.m. when the plowman saw two subjects acting suspiciously in and around several driveways.

When officers arrived they were told the two suspicious subjects were last seen on Mill Street. Soon after officers spotted them near Front Street and Cocheco Avenue, which prompted a male among the pair to take off on foot despite police demands to stop.

The male suspect was chased on foot throughout the neighborhood, with his footprints in the snow making him an easy track, Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said today.

Timothy M. Gordon ended up being apprehended near the fire museum and taken into custody without incident.

The female, who did not attempt flight, was identified as River Anne Marie Beasley.

Gordon was charged with resisting arrest or detention (A Misd), loitering or prowling (Violation) and Criminal Trespass (Violation).

Beasley was charged with loitering or prowling and receiving stolen property (B Misd).

Both were bailed with an arraignment date set next month in Rochester District Court.
