Some 250 attend Chamber raffle bash at Governor's Inn

ROCHESTER - The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce announce officially on Sunday that Tanya Hervey was the winner of this year's Chamber Raffle.

During a reverse raffle drawing of 325 tickets at "The Greatest Raffle on Earth" Chamber Raffle Bash event, underwritten by D.F. Richard Energy, on Friday, at The Governor's Inn, Tanya's ticket was the last one drawn.

All 325 tickets, sponsored by Service Credit Union, were sold at $100 each with the grand prize being the winner's choice of a vivid black, 2018 Harley-Davidson FXLR Low Rider or $10,000 cash. Hervey, who attended the event, selected the $10,000 prize.

Additionally, runner up prizes were also awarded. The third runner up winning $250 cash went to Jim Graves, the second runner up was Christine Norris winning $500 cash, and the first runner up receiving a $1,000 cash prize was Tammy Lavertue.

Approximately 250 attended the fun and exciting Chamber Raffle Bash and enjoyed a circus- themed evening that included the reverse raffle drawing, sponsored by Frisbie Memorial Hospital, which took place throughout the evening. Guests also enjoyed a fantastic circus themed menu buffet, sponsored by Waste Management and Lydall and dessert was sponsored by Laars Hng Systems Company.

Big Top sponsors were Hervey's Tire Co., Independence Financial Advisors, La Corona Mexican Restaurant and Poulin Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram. Media Partner for the event was The Rochester Voice. Before the festivities began, attendees enjoyed a relaxing social hour sponsored by Atlantic Broadband and Edward Jones-Megan Stewart Financial Advisor. The presentation was sponsored by The Links at Outlook Golf Course and The Village at Clark Brook Apartments which recognized all of the sponsors and the program was sponsored by Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. Registration sponsor was The Farmer's Kitchen and decorations were sponsored by Compass Home Inspections, Holy Rosary Credit Union, Quality Electric LLC, Spectex and Warner's New England Marine Sales & Service.

26 table sponsors were invited to participate in a table decorating contest and decorate their table to "The Greatest Raffle on Earth," circus theme. The winner was Willem Verweij, Physical Therapy, who received a $50 Visa gift card donated by ConvenientMD Urgent Care.

Attendees were invited to participate in a Corn Hole Toss game, sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire, and the winner, Mary Kay, received $25. Stephanie Conroy was the winner of the Jelly Bean Jar who guessed the closest number of jelly beans contained in the jar.

A "Booze Bucket" was won by Virgie McQuade.

Additionally, every ticket drawn during the reverse raffle process, other than the runner ups prizes and the grand raffle prize winning ticket, was entered into "second chance" prize drawings for 26 different prize packages, valued at over $7,000. Those present at the event were eligible to win any one of these fabulous prizes. These second chance prize packages were generously donated by area businesses and organizations. A "Booze Bucket" raffle containing 25 various liquors and wines was won by Virgie McQuade. Additionally, there was a Scratch Ticket raffle, sponsored by Daystar, Inc., containing $200 in scratch tickets that was won by Betty Bulloch.

A live auction, sponsored by Waste Management was also held for five great packages, valued at nearly $10,000! The first was a New Hampshire Summer Fun Pack featuring tickets and passes to various attractions and games, with the high bidder being Cheryl Hanscom! The second item was a Grill n' Chill package featuring a grill donated by Lowe's of Rochester, a firepit donated by The Home Depot, and a cooler basket of grilling goodies, a meat package containing 25 lbs. of assorted meats and a gift card donated by Hannaford, with the high bidder being Mike Currier. There were also three great beachfront island resort vacations to Antigua, Barbados and St. Lucia with high bidders being Kermit Wagner, Sheila Walter and Mary Henderson.

A Scratch Ticket raffle, sponsored by Daystar, Inc., containing $200 in scratch tickets, was won by Betty Bulloch.

The Chamber would like to thank all of those involved in producing such a fantastic event including the committee members, raffle ticket sellers, generous event sponsors, motorcycle display locations, Harley-Davidson Shop of Rochester, The Governor's Inn, second chance prize donors, ticket purchasers, volunteers and attendees.
