Somersworth Police on lookout for maroon SUV involved in pedestrian hit-and-run

SOMERSWORTH - Somersworth Police today are on the lookout for a marron SUV that left the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian walking along the shoulder of West High Street.

The hit-and-run occurred around 8 a.m. on Monday near the intersection of Route 108.

An investigation revealed that a male pedestrian was walking along the shoulder when he was struck. They were transported to Wentworth Douglass Hospital for treatment of what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

Police say the vehicle was traveling on West High Street and struck the pedestrian from behind. The vehicle is believed to be a maroon colored Sport Utility Vehicle similar to the size of a Honda CRV. It may have damage to the right side, possibly the headlight and/or mirror area.
