SOMERSWORTH - Somersworth Police continue to investigate multiple reports of shots fired at a Somersworth Housing Authority complex in the area of Green and Franklin streets, police said in a statement released on Friday.

Somersworth Police responded to the report of the shootings around 8:20 p.m. on Thursday and located several spent shell casings at the Charpentier Apartments at 28 Franklin St.

The apartments comprise a large complex owned and operated by the Somersworth Housing Authority. An on scene investigation revealed that two occupied apartments in the complex had rounds go through their windows and into their apartments, police said.

Miraculously, no one was injured. At this time there is no evidence to suggest that any specific tenants of the apartment complex were targeted, police said. Officers also conducted welfare checks on the other tenants to ensure their safety. The Somersworth Housing Authority was contacted and responded to assess the situation.

Meanwhile, Somersworth Police processed the scene and canvased the neighborhood speaking with several potential witnesses. Police are asking for anyone in the area with security systems to check them during the time frame of the report of shots. The investigation is ongoing.
