DOVER - A Somersworth woman is facing almost 20 years in prison after her indictment on drug possession and trafficking charges as well as being caught driving while a habitual offender.

Mandy Campbell, 39, of 70 Winter St., #1C, formerly of Milton Mills Road in Lebanon, Maine, is now facing trial for allegedly trafficking in fentanyl, possession of buprenorphine and driving after being classified NHDMV of being a habitual offender on the state's roadways. Buprenorphine is used in medication-assisted treatment to help people reduce or quit their use of heroin or other opiates, according to DHHS.

Somersworth Police with the help of Strafford County Sheriff's Office, State Police and DEA agents made the arrests after conducting a probe into her alleged trafficking of drugs as well as edible cannabis products.

As a result of the probe Campbell was arrested on May 29 with some 43 grams of heroin, suboxone, trazadone and hydrocodone seized as well as the edibles, marijuana and $7,800 in cash.

She faces up to seven years apiece on the drug charges and an additional five years for being caught driving on Green Street in Somersworth while classified as a habitual offender.

Funding from the Granite State Shield Grant program was used in the initial probe.

September's Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on Sept. 19 and released on Thursday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to move forward with trial.
