Somersworth woman nabbed in car theft case

ROCHESTER - A Somersworth woman is being held on a slew of charges today after police arrested her in connection with a stolen car case.

Melissa Patch, 33, of Lincoln Street, Somersworth, was charged with receiving stolen property after a Rochester Police Officer saw the vehicle on Whitehall Road around 3 a.m. today and recognized it as one that had been reported stolen.

Patch was charged with felony-level receiving stolen property, misdemeanor resisting arrest, three counts of misdemeanor simple assault on law enforcement, felony possession of heroin and contempt of court.

Rochester Police were not immediately available for explanation of the contempt charge.

Patch is being held at the Strafford County Jail on $5,000 cash bail with an arraignment in the 7th Circuit Court of Rochester set for later today.
