South Bewick motorcyclist killed in York crash

YORK, Maine - A South Berwick man is dead after his motocycle collided iwth a car on Birch Hill Road in York on Friday.

The crash occurred around 6:25 p.m. in the area of 160 Birch Hill Road.

When responders arrived at the scene they found a motorcycle and a car had been involved, according to a statement sent by York Police on Saturday.

Lifesaving measures were provided to the motorcycle operator, a 36-year-old male resident of South Berwick, however he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The operator of the passenger car, a 78-year-old male resident of York, was transported to the Wentworth Douglas Hospital with an apparent head injury.

The crash remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by the York Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team
