ROCHESTER - Spaulding High School Music and Performing Arts will present its annual winter village and holiday concert, Holiday Hygge, celebrating cozy, family-friendly seasonal traditions.

The event features performances by the concert and marching bands, percussion ensemble, full choir, select chorus, handbell choir, and colorguard. Shows will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Spaulding High School.

For those who don't know, Holiday Hygge (pronounced "hoo-gah") is the Danish art of creating a warm, cozy atmosphere and enjoying simple, comforting moments with loved ones during the festive season, focusing on contentment, connection, and slowing down with soft lights, good food, blankets, and meaningful company to combat winter's gloom.

Director Ron Goodwin shares the department's excitement for the season, while student Nicholas Kanelos highlights the variety of performances. Music director Bryar Tipton encourages attendees to support the school food pantry and Pope Memorial Humane Society through donations.
