ROCHESTER - Stanley J. Wisowaty, 91 died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 20, 1923, in Brighton, Mass. the son of John and Marianna (Operacz) Wisowaty. He was a 1941 graduate of St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, Mass. and attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Stanley grew up in and later operated the family business, JW Bakery, Chelsea, Mass.

He was an Army veteran having served as a combat engineer attached to the 150th Engineer Combat Battalion during WW II. The battalion was deployed to The European Theatre from June, 1944 to August, 1945.

Stanley began his career with Raytheon and later became an electronics engineer for Varian Associates, a pioneer in the electronics industry, in Palo Alto, California.

From 1975 to 1987, Stanley and his wife, Laura enjoyed living on "the farm" in Freedom, N.H. where they owned and operated Bald Ledge Stable.

Stanley was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He liked to say, "I have done it all from carpenter to soldier, baker to engineer." Stanley loved his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren. He took great joy in his great-grandchildren. He had a wide variety of interests which included computers, horses, gardening, poker and fixing anything he could get his hands on.

Members of his family include his wife, Laura (Pietrowicz) Wisowaty of Rochester; four children, Judith A. Hallisey and her husband, Dennis of Durham, James F. Wisowaty and his wife, Mary Alice of Rochester; Janice Brotherton and her husband, Steve of Bartlett and S. Jerard Wisowaty and his wife, Iva of Candia; 8 grandchildren, Carolynn (Dennis) Pearson Dupuis, James Michael (April) Wisowaty, Jon-Michael (Meghan) Pearson, Laura (Joseph) Hallisey Wood, D. Matthew Hallisey, Marianna Brotherton, Michaela Brotherton and Jacob Johnson; 4 great grandchildren, James Daniel Wisowaty, Jane Ann Wood, Boden Pearson and Clayton Dennis Wood; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Jon Michael Wisowaty.
