CONCORD - The National Federation of Independent Business today, announced its endorsement of State Sen. Jim Gray for re-election to the State Senate, District 6.

NFIB State Director for New Hampshire, Bruce Berke announced the endorsement of Senator Gray for re-election stating that his commitment to work positively on small business issues is "demonstrated by his outstanding voting record and his public statements showing he has the backs of small business owners in the state of New Hampshire."

Berke continued, "Senator Gray is ingrained in the small business community in Senate District 6. The Senator understands the challenges of the small business person in New Hampshire and appreciates the highs and lows entrepreneurs experience on a daily basis."

"Senator Gray has fought against mandates like a $15 minimum wage and a one-size fits all but costly mandatory leave policy that would be crippling to small business owners throughout the State of New Hampshire during the current pandemic."

"In short, Senator Gray recognizes that the business cost drivers debated in Concord every year have a real impact on small businesses in Senate District 6 from his home town of Rochester up to the Big Lake and Alton. Senator Gray understands the actual financial costs to business when the government steps in and tells a business how to operate. Increased labor costs through mandated wages or benefits reduce job opportunities for his constituents and stymie business growth."

"And finally, Senator Jim Gray knows how devastating to our economy a state income or sales tax would be. Without these top down, state mandated taxes, New Hampshire has been able to create and maintain the New Hampshire Advantage, an advantage for workers seeking opportunity in Senate District 6."

Senator Jim Gray stated, "I am proud to receive NFIB's endorsement in the race for State Senate in District 6 because the small businesses and NFIB members are the backbone of New Hampshire's economy."

Senator Gray continued, "Growing our state's economy and creating opportunities for good paying jobs will continue to be my top priority as state senator. Providing tax relief and reducing regulations will empower our small businesses to grow and create jobs for Granite Staters, especially for the communities in District 6."

The NFIB's endorsement process is based on voting records, surveys and membership input that all focuses on issues that are critical to operating a business in New Hampshire.
