DOVER - Steven J. Keable died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at his home after a valiant battle with heart disease. He was 59. Steven was born on March 4, 1959 in Providence, R.I. He was the son of Joyce (Russell) Keable and the late Marcel Keable. He grew up in Auburn, Massachusetts.
Steven graduated in 1977 from St. Johns High School and earned his Bachelors degree from Bowdoin College in Maine. He then received his Masters degree in teaching from Brown University. Steve was extremely proud of his teaching experience at Sea Pines Abroad in Salzburg, Austria with his lifelong friend, Stewart Dary. He was able to tour all areas of Europe and was very devoted to his students. Steven returned to school to pursue his law degree at University of Maine School of Law and graduated in 1987. He began his law career working as a prosecutor at Rockingham County and was later promoted to Deputy County Attorney. After working as a prosecutor for 20 years, he decided to fulfill his dream of opening his solo practice in Dover, N.H., and worked there until his retirement in July, 2018.
Steven met the love of his life, Kathleen Cuddy working at Friendly's in Auburn, Mass. After a beautiful courtship, they were married on April 23, 1988 in St. Joseph's Church, North Brookfield, Mass., and were married for 30 wonderful years. Together, they lived in Dover raising their son, Christopher Owen. Steven loved his wife and son more than life itself. He fought his hardest to live each day to the fullest in order to create lasting memories with them.
In addition to his wife, son, and mother, Steven is survived by his sister, Lauren (Keable) Kalian and her husband John of Warwick, Rhode Island, his brother Thomas Keable and his wife Donna of Fort Worth, Texas. He was predeceased by his sister, Charlene (Keable) Blodgett. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Theresa Cuddy of Charlton, Mass., as well as the entire Cuddy family. He enjoyed many summers spent at the Cuddy family summer cottage on Lake Lashaway in East Brookfield, Mass. He adored his nieces and nephews, Preston, Alexis, Gwen, Gabrielle, Tommy, Tony, Joe and Aimee and was very happy to share special times with them.
Steven enjoyed rooting for his favorite teams, especially the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics, and the UNH Wildcats. He will be best remembered for his easy sense of humor, love of family, and his gift at the art of storytelling.
