CONCORD - Gov. Chris Sununu will deliver his 2023 Budget Address today touting a "fiscally responsible budget with no new taxes or fees" that will also deliver the single larges raise for state employees in more than 50 years.
"This budget focuses on three key areas: Our workforce, who work tirelessly to run the most efficient government in the country; our kids, who are the future of this state; and our property tax payers," Sununu said in a statement from the Governor's office sent Monday. "Simply put, this budget prioritizes people over programs."
Sununu also promised ambitious licensing and regulatory reform, increases in education funding while providing property tax relief and across-the-board Medicaid rate increases for services.
"In just the last six years, we made investments into early childhood education, signed full-day kindergarten into law, created successful educational freedom accounts for low income families," Sununu said. "And we've created Career Academies, giving high school students access to associates degrees at no cost."
The speech will be broadcast live on WMUR at 1 p.m.
