CORNISH, Maine - A Waterboro man was arrested on Sunday after he and his father got into a brief armed standoff with a former girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

The incident began around noon when York County Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 1700 block of North Road in Cornish. Upon arrival, deputies learned that Marcus Lafebvre, 28, of Waterboro, had threatened two individuals with a firearm.

The male victim and Lefebvre's former girlfriend were leaving a residence in Cornish when they found a vehicle was blocking their driveway. When the male victim asked the driver of the vehicle, William Lefebvre, who is Marcus Lefebvre's father, to move his vehicle, Marcus Lefebvre appeared and allegedly pointed a .45 caliber handgun at the victim and his girlfriend (Marcus' former girlfriend). The victim, who was also armed, displayed his firearm while retreating and calling the police.

Police say Marcus Lefebvre had been threatening his former girlfriend and her new boyfriend for several weeks and was given a formal warning by Deputy Gil Hudson not to have contact with either of them about a month ago.

The night before Deputy Heath Mains also issued Marcus Lefebvre a "cease harassment order" because he was text-messaging threats to both of them.

Marcus Lafebvre was arrested for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon (Class C) and criminal threatening (Class D) and is being held on a $100,000 bail. He will be video arraigned on Tuesday, and has another court date next month in York County Superior Court.

Additional charges may be forthcoming regarding his noncompliance with the no contact order, the YCSO said.

Meanwhile, after Marcus Lefebvre was transported to jail, his former girlfriend, who co-owns a residence with Marcus Lefebvre, went to the residence to retrieve some personal belongings. Around 5 p.m. on Sunday, William Lefebvre found the woman and her boyfriend at the residence removing some belongings and caused a disturbance. A deputy advised William that the former girlfriend has authority to be in the residence and to reclaim her belongings; nevertheless, William Lefebvre became disruptive and failed to follow the deputies' orders and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct.

William G Lefebvre, 61, of Alfred, was charged with disorderly conduct. He posted $200 cash bail and has a court date in August at Springvale District Court.
