LEBANON - A syringe found along the road near a Lebanon day care raised alarm on Friday with Lebanon Fire and EMS taking the opportunity to urge parents that they warn children of the dangers of touching one if found.

According to the department's Facebook page, the syringe was safely disposed of.

Lebanon Fire and EMS urges anyone to call the station at 457.3922 if they find a syringe so it can be properly disposed of, noting that some bloodborne diseases can remain virulent in dried blood for up to a week.

Crews are on hand from 6 a.m.-10p.m. Mon-Fri and until 6 p.m. on weekends.
