SOMERSWORTH - A Somersworth teen was seriously injured on Wednesday when her vehicle veered off the Spaulding Turnpike and rolled over while exiting Exit 9 southbound in Dover.
The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m., and speed appears to be a factor, according to a State Police press release sent on Thursday.
Eighteen-year-old Madison A. Smith was driving a 2004 Honda CRV when she lost control and drove off the right side of the roadway, causing the SUV to roll over ejecting her from the vehicle.
Smith was transported to Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover before being taken by Boston MedFlight to Brigham and Woman's Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
While speed appears to be a factor, all aspects remain under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Trooper N. Klimashov at Nikita.Klimashov@dos.nh.gov or 603-223-3828.
