ROCHESTER - Not only does the Gloved Bandit have a nasty habit of knocking off convenience stores late at night at knifepoint. He’s also a smoker.

Rochester Police revealed in a press release on Tuesday that in three of the four recent Rochester robberies, the suspect stole Marlboro cigarettes as well as cash.

In an effort to bring the Gloved Bandit in, police are now offering a $500 reward for information leading to his arrest.

The robberies include recent heists at the Milton Road Shell Station, Irving Circle K on Gonic Road, and twice at the East Rochester Cumberland Farms, the most recent time on Sunday.

In three of the four robberies, the suspect is wearing a blue Adidas hooded sweatshirt and is armed with a black 4"-5" hunting knife, stealing cash and cigarettes.

The suspect in all four obberies is said to be a white male approximately 5'5"-5'8" with a thin build. He always wears a utility-style leather glove in the left hand and the knife in the right. He has also been known to wear a black Under Armor sweatshirt as in the first Cumby’s robbery. He always wears dark jeans and dark sneakers and a covering over his face.

As Rochester Police look to tighten the noose on the suspect’s whereabouts, Rochester Police Facebook friends have even begun debating his gender, some openly wondering if perhaps “the dude’s a lady.”

“It’s the feminine eyes,” says one.
