LEBANON, Maine - Thirza McGrath Giera, 96, formerly of West Lebanon Road in Lebanon, died Sunday, October 15, 2017, at the Greenwood Center in Sanford, Maine. Born August 4, 1921 in Danville, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Rodney and Annie (Bruce) McGrath.
Thirza has lived in East Rochester and Lebanon most of her life. She worked as a printer for the Jefferson Printing Company for many years. She was a faithful member of True Memorial Church in Rochester for many years. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and was a member of the Lebanon Ladies Circle. Her greatest love was her family and her church family.
Members of her family include her sons Ronald Furbush and his wife Janet of East Rochester, and Bruce Furbush and his wife Beverly of West Lebanon, Maine; her stepson, Robert Giera and his wife Mary Ann; her step daughter Carol Desrosiers and her husband James; her grandchildren Brenda and Rodney Furbush and Barbara Roberts; her great-grandchildren David Cudworth and Luke, Ross, Adam, Benjamin, and Andrew Myers, Rodney Furbush, and Sara Larue; 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters, Doris Harriman and Mavis McIsaac, and her husband, Casimer Giera.
