ROCHESTER - Three people were injured in a two-car crash on Rochester Hill Road Wednesday night.

Police got the call around 6:50 p.m. and responded to the intersection of Dora Drive where it was learned that Meagan Rice, 32 of Rochester, was operating a 2010 Honda Accord making a left turn onto Dora Drive when she was rear-ended by a 2004 Honda CRV operated by 47-year-old Veronica Gauthier of Rochester.

Rice and a passenger in her vehicle were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with unspecified but what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries, while Gauthier received minor injuries and refused treatment.

The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. No one in the vehicles were wearing seat belts save for a 1-year-old child in a vehicle not specified by police who was not hurt.

Air bags deployed in both vehicles.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact Ofc. Justin Seckendorf of the Rochester Police Department.

The Rochester Police Department took the opportunity to remind everyone that air bags are a supplementary restraint system to seat belts and that used properly in conjunction with proper seat belt use can greatly reduce the chances of injury or death. The reliance on only air bags can result in serious injury and death as they do not hold the person in their seat.
