ANDOVER - Three motorists were injured Wednesday in a fiery two-car crash along Route 11 in Andover.
The collision occurred around 3:40 p.m. near Plains Road.
State Police say that a vehicle headed westbound crossed the double yellow center line and crashed head-on into another vehicle headed eastbound, causing both vehicles to erupt in flame.
Three occupants were either pulled from the two vehicles by passers-by or got out on their own. Two were transported by a medical helicopter to a hospital, and a third was transported by ambulance.
Route 11 was shut down in both directions for several hours as the New Hampshire State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Unit mapped the scene and the vehicles were removed.
The crash remains under investigation as well as any contributing factors. If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact Trooper Kyle Cotnoir at (603) 227-0089 or Kyle.H.Cotnoir@dos.nh.gov
