Three more deaths reported as new COVID cases continue to drop

CONCORD - Numbers released on Thursday by state DHHS officials show a continuing drop in new confirmed COVID-19 cases, a trend that began almost a week ago.

The new numbers showed 31 new positive test results for a state total of 819 COVID-19 cases in New Hampshire.

Of those with complete information, all are adults with 58 percent female and 42 percent male. The new cases reside in Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (9), Rockingham (7), Carroll (4), and Merrimack (3) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (4) and Nashua (4).

No new COVID-19 cases were reported in Rochester or Strafford County.

Health officials also said nine new COVID-19 cases required hospitalization, bringing to 127 (16%) the number of positive cases that have been hospitalized.

Three more deaths related to COVID-19 were reported, including men from Cheshire, Hillsboro and Merrimack counties, all 60 or older.

Locally, the numbers of cases remain unchanged, with Dover with 10-19 cases, Rochester and Barrington with 5-9 and Farmington, Somersworth and Milton with 1-4.

In Maine the number of confirmed cases rose to 586, up 49 from Wednesday, with 111 hospitalized and three more deaths for a total of 17 statewide. The number of confirmed cases in York County now stands at 137.

Maine health officials' age metrics show that the greatest percentage of confirmed cases are among those in their 50s, a little more than 20 percent of total cases.

New Hampshire health officials have confirmed they will be releasing age metrics beginning next week.
