DOVER - Dover Police say three Rochester residents are under arrest on felony riot and assault charges in connection with an altercation at a Dover McDonald's restaurant drive-up window back in March.

All three turned themselves in to Dover Police on Wednesday and today after learning arrest warrants had been filed against them.

Those individual and charges are as follows:

Champion J. Sprague, 24, of 18 Stillwater Circle, was charged with felony riot as well as misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, and two simple assaults

Robert C. Gorham, 32, of 809 Salmon Falls Road, was charged with felony riot, felony second-degree assault, and a misdemeanor count of attempted simple assault

Megan L. O'Neill, 26, of 8 Spruce St., was charged with felony riot, and a misdemeanor count of simple assault.

The incident unfolded around 11:25 p.m. on March 10 when police responded to the report of a fight at the McDonald's restaurant at 912 Central Ave. Police learned the altercation occurred in the restaurant's vehicle drive-through lane.

When officers arrived they learned that two individuals, a married couple in their 40s, had gone to Wentworth Douglass Hospital for treatment after being assaulted.

The victims reported another car had cut them off in the drive through line, and then the people in the car began yelling insults at them, according to police. Two men and a woman from that car then choked the female victim, punched the male victim, and damaged their vehicle. One of the men also attempted to punch the 19-year-old son of the female victim.

Detectives from the Dover Police Department's Special Investigations Bureau conducted a lengthy investigation and were ultimately able to identify the three individuals involved and obtained arrest warrants on the charges.

All three suspects were released on personal recognizance bail pending an arraignment on May 24 at Strafford County Superior Court.
