From left, Spaulding High commencement last Friday, our Commander in Chief Joe Biden and NH Governor Chris Sununu

On Thursday New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu held his final regularly scheduled COVID-19 press conference, but it covered a lot more than COVID.

There were questions about abortion rights, critical race theory and a proposed change to the state primary date.

So Govenor, why not make a weekly press conference permanent?

Just because the COVID era is winding down, transparency and openness to the press should not be put on the back burner.

We believe that the weekly press conferences should continue, and we urge the public to let their governor know they feel the same way.

We also believe that President Biden needs to get a full physical including cognitive testing immediately.

After embarrassing gaffes during his recent tour in Europe it is imperative that he prove to Americans he is in charge and not some behind the scenes "Wizard of Oz" JO'bama like so many suspect.

For instance last weekend Biden called Russian president Vladimir Putin a "killer," days before the two were to meet, prompting a CNN reporter to ask this very specific question to the U.S. president:

"In a weekend interview, Vladimir Putin laughed at the suggestion that you had called him a 'killer.' Is that still your belief, sir, that he is a killer?"

Here is the reply taken directly from the White House transcript.

THE PRESIDENT: (Laughs.) To answer the first question -- (laughs) -- I'm laughing too. They actually -- I --

Q : So he is a killer?

THE PRESIDENT: "Well, look, I mean, he has made clear that -- the answer is: I believe he has, in the past, essentially acknowledged that he was -- there were certain things that he would do or did do. But look, when I was asked that question on air, I answered it honestly. But it's not much of a -- I don't think it matters a whole lot, in terms of this next meeting we're about to have."

Whaaaaaat"

As Charles Barkley and Biden, himself have said, "C'mon, man!"

Also during the trip, he got Syria and Libya mixed up, called out British Prime Minsster Boris Johnson for not introducing the president of South Africa whom he'd already introduced and got lost and was wandering around a cafe before being rescued and led away by the First Lady as onlookers giggled.

But, even with all these gaffes, the "mainstream media," and we use that term dubiously, is not screaming for a cognitive test of our Commander in Chief, though they did for President Trump in 2018.

Trump took the test, and aced it.

In fact, if all you watch is MSNBC, you'd think Biden's trip to Europe was a stunning success.

Watch the video of him wandering around the cafe and being led away by the First Lady to the mocking laughter of onlookers here.

And finally back to Rochester, where a week ago Spaulding's graduating seniors were urged to lead "their best life" and be the best "version of themselves" during commencement speeches.

To this I would add, don't be too hard on yourselves.

Life is a struggle. Life is not easy.

A quote made famous by John Lennon and sung in his song "Beautiful Boy" says, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."

To me, trying to be the best version of myself sounds tiring.

So I would say simply: Have some fun. Be kind to everyone. Take some trips, because they're what you'll remember. Love your family. Try not to hurt anyone. Keep a smile on your face and love in your heart. Do what you know is right. Find a job you love; if it pays well, even better. Make babies.
