Tilton man fatally struck at Route 16 construction zone in Dover

DOVER - A Tilton man was killed in a vehicle crash in an active work zone on Route 16 in Dover.

State Troopers responded around 10:30 am. and determined that one of the vehicles at the site, a 2020 Ford Super Duty pickup truck driven by Ryan Prescott, 35, of Manchester, struck another worker while reversing.

Life-saving measures were attempted by emergency responders on Everett Martin, 65, of Tilton, however, he died as a result of injuries.

Troopers were assisted on scene by members of the Dover Fire Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). One lane of Route 16 northbound was shut down for more than three hours while the crash was investigated.

No charges have been filed at this time.
