Traffic stop leads to Gonic man's arrest on crack trafficking charge

ROCHESTER - A Tuesday traffic stop led to the arrest of a Gonic man on several charges including drug possession and trafficking.

Arthur Bougie, 55, of 21 Rudman Drive, was charged with possession of a controlled drug/narcotic with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled drug subsequent offense, operating an unregistered vehicle and operating with a license expired more than 12 months.

The arrest occurred during a traffic stop on Hansonville Road around 1:25 p.m. when an officer noticed the unregistered vehicle being operated on the roadway and then identified the driver as Bougie.

During the traffic stop the officer learned Bougie was operating with an expired license and also found Bougie to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine. Bougie was taken into custody and later bailed on personal recognizance pending an arraignment in Strafford County Superior Court.
